Currently living in Portland, Oregon, MA FORD is a multidisciplinary artist born in the Pacific Northwest who specializes in illustration, traditional sign painting, and murals. While she currently lives in Portland, Oregon, she often travels to experience new cultures, ways of thinking, and natural landscapes. Native flora and fauna in each area feature heavily in her murals. She approaches each mural project by researching the natural and historical landscape of the area. Typically she uses the mural as a way to bring the natural world into the urban landscape and inspire in her viewers a connection to their natural surroundings. Her art is illustrative and filled with bright and contrasting colors to highlight the vibrancy she sees in the world.

She’s worked as a freelance muralist and sign painter since 2020, starting in Australia. She has gained many artistic and technical skills due to experience as an assistant to other muralists and this on the ground learning as well as a steady studio practice represent her artistic schooling. She’s painted while on ladders, 4-story scaffolding, scissor lift, and swing stage. She has painted and assisted on more than 20 murals in Australia, Mexico, USA, and Morocco.
